PNP transistors are made by combining two P type and one N type crystal. P type crystals are joined on either side of the N type, two junctions are formed when the crystals are joined in this way. A PN junction is merged with an NP junction. So 3 of the segments are left as PNP. Transistor made of this type is called PNP transistor.

(2) NPN (Negative Positive Negative) Transistor

NPN transistor is made by combining two N type and one P type crystal. N type crystals are joined on either side of the P type, two junctions are formed when the crystals are joined in this way.   1. To check the transistor, both the diodes in it are checked, in which one is between A and B and the other between B and C.
  2. Put the multimeter on buzzer mode.
  3. The Red Probe will be placed on A and the Black Probe on B.
  4. If Reading is found then Transistor is PNP and if Reading is not found then Transistor is NPN Transistor.
  5. If the reading is not found on both the sides, then the transistor will be considered bad.
